Samsung Electronics today announced the company will introduce new models in its monitor lineup, expanding its visual display leadership for the users. First batch was relatively small and a larger one is scheduled for tomorrow. The Odyssey Neo G9’s groundbreaking dual UHD 57” curved display paves the way for monitors in 2023 and beyond Good news is the part (98-540-216 is the sku for those who want to set an alert) has begun production. We are really happy that we were able to get this through relatively quickly and to our high standards. There's a group of passionate gamers in Ergotron that were able to build a case for this accessory to go ahead without allocated development, engineering or marketing budget in an already crowded product roadmap. We apologise for the inconvenience u/Spanish_Ergotroner and hope that you can understand our position. With no CG measurements made available by Samsung it took us (thanks to some great customer feedback) a little time to be made aware of the issue. but we do have to rely on simulations for some results. We have 1 person that spends a lot of time keeping our Product Finder up to date and they do an awesome job. The model release was a surprise to us and unfortunately we can't physically purchase and test every single monitor on the market. Thanks for the understanding here u/enyceedanny! Why? That's easy: because you're the customer, and you're not guilty of the Ergotron misfunction, and due to that, you don't have to pay something that you aren't responsible for. I'm going to say what, in my opinion, should Ergotron do to solve this question: Did you purchase an HX before this date? OK, send me a copy of the invoice (and also a copy of the invoice of the G9, ok) and we will send you the replacemente for free. ![]() Thank you Ergotron? What did we do wrong? We have to pay 400$ instead of 300 for having a functional version of the Ergotron HX for our monitors. And yes, now Ergotron is building a replacement for the "holding head" of the HX, replacement that is going to cost us something close to 100$ (or 100€) over the price of the regular HX. But at that time a lot of people, me among them, had already bought the HX, which is an stunning device, but not exactly a cheap one (when you want quality you have to pay for it, ok). Once they knew it, they posted an advice in their website warning about this problem with the G9. Ok, I understand it.īut the point here is that Ergotron has been aware of this big issue with the HX and the Samsung Odyssey G9 only because we, the purchasers, warned them about it (I was one of them). Nevertheless, there is a big problem! The spring can't hold the monitor due to the curve. But there is a thing that I don't understand: our monitor is clearly under the maximum weight that the Ergotron HX can hold. It was at that point when I started to read the posts and threads here at Reddit.įortunately, Ergotron is working on a sollution for us the customers, which speaks good for them up to this point. Of course I have the same "tilt" problem, problem that I found once I mounted the arm and hanged the monitor on it, not before. I purchased an Ergotron HX (wall mount) about two months ago for my G9.
